Filanthropy Friday

Today's Filanthropy Friday is in honor of all the moms.

I selected Oxfam because;
  1. They're awesome and do really good work;
  2. You can pick specific gifts (see below) to donate; and
  3. I enjoy eating so obviously I hate poverty.
For all the moms on my side of the family, I donated a vegetable garden.   This is specifically for my mother who loves and has a talent for all things green (this obviously skipped me, I have a talent for killing weeds).

For all the moms on Buttin's side of the family, I donated a field of organic cotton. Buttin's family has a lot cotton farmers so this seemed obviously appropriate.  Also, I like organic stuff because it's totally better for you.

For all the other moms in our lives, I donated poop - specifically to Aunt Jen because I thought she would find it kind of funny - and crabs - specifically to Aunt Liz because I thought she needed crabs.

Happy Anniversary Baby Mamas!

One year ago today, I managed to pack my frazzled, partially showered (but still smelly) butt along with an almost one month old little boy in the car and drive to Round Rock for a meeting with other new mothers - Metamorphosis to Motherhood.  Strange name, so we decided to change it to BABY MAMAS!

I've had several friends and family members become moms during the last year and my best piece of advice (even above - sleep when the baby sleeps) is to make friends with other new mothers.  No one can understand you as much as someone going through a similar situation at the same time.

I can't imagine the last year without my baby mama friends - all the laughs have been funnier, all the tears a little less difficult and all the mommy-doubt/guilt a little more bearable because of them.  Big smooches!

Changing subjects a little - my mom (Mormor) and Bubie (the MorMorMor) came into town to do some shopping, eating and playing with Cub.

Here's Bubie playing ball with Cub.

Beautiful Day

The weather was just too pretty today to spend a moment inside.

Cub and I spent most of the afternoon playing.  This is the good life.

Misfit Monday

The Toilet - a true story
except for the parts I made up

Misfit A broke a toilet at Misfit B's job.

Misfit B found a toilet at another job and the customer allowed Misfit B to take it (presumably, the customer was not still using the toilet).

Misfit B brings toilet back to Misfit Headquarters (our office).

Misfit B, Misfit C and Misfit D replace Misfit E's office chair with the toilet.

Misfit E moves toilet to Misfit D's desk.

Misfit D sits on toilet for most of the day.

Misfits C, D, E and F put the toilet in Misfit B's office (after removing a cinder block that was being used to keep Misfit B's desk up).

Misfit F uses the toilet and then leaves the toilet paper on the floor of Misfit B's office.

Here is a picture of the toilet in Misfit B's office.

The End.

We're having some crazy cool and rainy weather, but Graby still has to go "ought".  Here's a picture of Graby going on a walk in the rain with his pita chip (He loves putting pita chips in his mouth although no amount of pita chip has actually been consumed.)

Yucky Toddler & Pet Things

***WARNING***WARNING***
Gross Stuff In Post
Thing #1:

We use cloth diapers.  When Graby goes poo, we have to rinse out the diaper before washing it.  I got a diaper sprayer from Santa, but Buttin has resorted to using the hose in the back yard - both ways work. We usually put the poo diaper on the changing table or in a bag next to the back door or sometimes next to to the television (that one is odd, but true) and rinse them out at the end of the day.

Well the other morning, Buttin and I changed Graby's poo diaper (it sometimes takes two of us - one to hold him down and the other to clean) and set the diaper on my nightstand. We came back in about a half hour later to change his clothes (or something) and I noticed the poo diaper was on the ground, minus the poo and there was a gross looking puppy on the bed.  CARTMAN HAD EATEN THE POO OUT OF CUB'S DIAPER!!  EWEEEEEEEE!!

I made a vomiting sound and Buttin said, "oh yeah, he's done that before."  On the upside neither one of us had to rinse out the diaper using the sprayer or the hose.

Thing #2:

Graby has this new thing he likes to do in the bathtub (keep in mind it's after a day of playing in dirt, pee, food and lots of other gross stuff plus he often pees in the tub).  He gets on all fours, like a puppy dog and starts slurping up the bath water.

Here's the little dirty water drinker just standing around - check out his hands - very, very dirty.

Road Trip

Cub woke up this morning with a low fever.

He seemed to be OK (just a little congestion), so we headed to Mormor and Dadoo's house as planned.  It's about a two hour drive and he slept for about forty-five minutes on the way.

Here he is not really eating, but being cute while we attempted to feed him.

We all had a nice visit and Cub even took a little nap.
