Weekend Recap

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Cash on the train (he and I spent a little time together on Saturday afternoon - it was nice)

We brought the Bumbo out this weekend.

Cash still fits in it pretty easily.

Mac's chubby legs barely fit in the Bumbo.  When I try to take him out of the Bumbo - I have the push down on the chair at the same time.

Here are Cash, Mac and Mouser (looking for "squirrels in the food machine" - we checked and we actually have about four "squirrels").  Cash asked if we were going to turn the squirrels into food.  Um.  No.

Weekend With Gigi

Maybe you got from the title of this post that Gigi spent the weekend with us - it was fantastic. We actually got to see a movie on Friday night (a first since before Chicken).

Looks like we might get another night with Gigi.  A winter storm is on it's way and she should probably stay put in warm, cozy Austin and not venture north.

Happy Two Months Chicken!

No letter tonight - hopefully later in the week.

Here is Mac giving smiles to Mormor.

News! News!

I really need to play catch up with my blog.

On Monday, December 17th at 9:31 AM Buttin and I welcomed our 2nd son (surprise!), George Cormac.  We're going to call him Mac.

I'm trying to finish his birth story and hope to post it tomorrow or Monday.

I love watching my husband being a father and Cash being a big brother.

Sunday Play

This weekend Gigi came in for a quick visit. I think she was hoping Chicken would arrive, but instead Cash just spoiled her with snuggles.  Cash didn't care that mom or dad were around  - he only wanted Gigi.

Sadly, we said goodbye to Gigi this morning and Cash had to make do with me and Buttin.

Here he is getting ready for a super classy bike ride (yup, those are fuzzy crocs over footie pjs).

Here he is being swung by Buttin.

Check out Buttin's strange foot positioning - I have no idea how he is staying upright.

Playing Catch Up

We had a fun, but very busy Thanksgiving week.  Hence, the lack of blogging.

Now, it's time for a little catch up or at least a few pictures.

Sunday Train Ride

Yesterday while Mormor and I did a bunch of work organizing for Chicken and decorating for Christmas -  Buttin took Cash for an "adventure" - the train ride

Today, after Mormor left (after doing lots more work) Buttin, Cash and I all went for a train ride.

Keeping Tradition

Our Sunday morning tradition - eating donuts - sometimes outside, while still wearing pjs.

Touch A Truck

This morning we went to "Touch A Truck".  There was a huge park with a bunch of trucks, tractors, loaders and vehicles for kids to explore.

Cash had fun - here are a couple of pictures.

Another Mouth Injury

Poor kid can't catch a break.

Mormor came into town this morning.

Here are Cub and Mormor running.

Here's Cub about 30 seconds later.

Rainy Day Play

This morning Gigi left and took Cartman with her.  Cartman will have a much better life as an only child/pet with Gigi.

It pretty much rained all day so this morning Cub and I went for a walk in the rain with his monster truck.  While walking, he found an empty can of Lonestar Beer and thought it was the best toy ever!  I felt a little embarrassed as cars drove by staring at a pregnant me with a child carrying a monster truck and a can of Lonestar Beer with liquid that he kept pouring on the ground (he would refill the can in the puddles, but I wonder if some people thought it was beer).

Here is my little redneck toddler.

This afternoon Buttin power-washed the garage.  Cub tried helping by playing with all of the toys we put away in the garage for Chicken.  He even told me he was a "baby right now" and needed a ride (in the rain) in his infant stroller.  Silly kid.

Busy Day

Today was quite busy.

We said good-bye to B-ma and Papa, met friends at the park and spent the afternoon playing with Gigi.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Playing In The Rain

There is absolutely no dissuading Cash from a decision once he's made it.

This afternoon we went to Auntie and Uncle's house to see B-Ma and Papa.  It started pouring, so of course, Cash wanted to go outside.

He then decided he had to go out in the rain and that he needed to "be naked" (except for shoes) to play.

He and Papa took a little walk.

B-Ma and Papa Visit

Today B-Ma and Papa came into town (from Florida).

I think Cash wore them out.

Here's Cub telling Gigi to get on his bike.

Fun Weekend With Gigi

Gigi was in town this weekend.

Cub really enjoyed all of his snuggle Gigi time.

He also enjoyed driving lessons.

And this monkey balloon Gigi bought for him at the store this morning - monkey hugs.

White trash outfit also provided by Gigi.

Helpful Hints

My best friend Liz has a blog - The Year of Taking.

In her honor - I'm taking something from her (an idea).

Liz has a habit of writing a 10-page instruction manual for a pet sitter when she's going out of town for two days.  She leaves a detailed, type-written list of rules and insights like , "feed the dogs" and "Kody is afraid of thunder" and "lock the doors".  It's actually pretty impressive.

I decided to write my own instruction manual about Cub to give to Mormor and Gigi (while Buttin and I are on vacation).  To be fair, the guide I wrote is far less detailed than the ones Liz writes.

Some of my favorite things about my "helpful hints" for Mormor and Gigi include:
  • A daily schedule for Cub
  • A color coded map of Cub's room (in case Gigi gets lost)
  • Information like, "Cub doesn't know how to spell, so you made need to help him with You Tube".
It's a pretty exciting read.

Even with all my type-written lists, I still had to hand write some stuff this evening

So, I'll be taking a little blog break for the next few days, but I will return - hopefully well-rested and full of stories (about how many naps I took).

I sure am going to miss this little face (and big personality).
