Evidence Of A Bad Kitty

I like to make meals with biscuits. It's not very creative, I just throw biscuits in a pan and either put in cheese or cinnamon sugar or peanut butter - whatever sounds good.

I can never eat all the food I make, so I usually leave it on the counter and give it to Molly after it cools off.

Well, last Sunday (after eating my biscuits) - I went into the kitchen and found that all the tops had been eaten off the biscuits.I assumed that the perpetrator of this crime was Scratch. He's the cat who enjoys people food the most and he's also chubby.

Well, I made cheesy biscuits today and look what we found:
The bad kitty is Peenie! Peenie NEVER even comes inside the house, but we caught him/her with paws in the biscuit jar (or pan). Sorry Scratch.

Weekly Workout Summary

My weekly workout summaries are becoming kind of lame. It's difficult to spend more than two sentences describing my fascinating adventures in jog waddling. I actually did meet an interesting (and by interesting, I mean kind of creepy) kid while jog waddling this week - I'll save those stories for another post.

I jog waddled about 12 miles this week, although it's becoming more waddle and less jog, which I suppose is OK.

I am starting to get very jealous of runners I see. I think I've spent enough time not running to really miss it. This gives me hope that one day, a couple months after Lumpy arrives, I'll start running again.

Thirty Second Movie Review - The Crazies

The Crazies

Very entertaining crazy-infection movie. Not overly gory, but certainly not for the faint of heart. Like most other good zombie-type movies - no happy ending here.

Fetus Friday - Week 35

I remember when I first found out I was pregnant, Lumpy's birthday seemed like something SO FAR in the future. I know the last couple of weeks I've mentioned time going by quickly, but it really has, and as I think about how Lumpy will be here in less than 6 weeks - I am both extremely excited and extremely petrified.

Baby Center has this to say about Lumpy:

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds. Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same.

Lumpy's movements have become very odd feeling. Instead of the normal kicks and punches; Lumpy is stretching and jabbing. Sometimes I actually have to poke Lumpy's foot down because it's protruding so far out. My stomach now moves in waves and it kind of freaks Buttin out.

Baby Center has this to say about me:

Your uterus — which was entirely tucked away inside your pelvis when you conceived — now reaches up under your rib cage. If you could peek inside your womb, you'd see that there's more baby than amniotic fluid in there now.

Well, this certainly makes sense considering all the weird movements I'm feeling. I certainly feel like my torso is ALL LUMPY.

Small Business Owner Stories

My mom thinks that I should write more about being a small business owner. (For some reason, as I read this, "small business owner" looks very funny to me - Buttin and I own a small business, but we're not tiny people who own a business.)

I certainly find this part of my life to be rewarding (albeit very frustrating, heartbreaking and nerve wracking, at times), but I'm not sure how interesting it is for others (I'm also not sure how fascinating my friends find hypnobabies and jog waddling, but I still talk about those two things a bunch).

Well, I'm going to attempt to give more updates about our little flooring company (no, I never thought when I was training to be the next Katie Couric that I would one day sell carpet). So, here's my first little "SBOS".

Finally, Some Very Good News

I don't mean the title to imply that we don't get some good news everyday, but with the economy the way it has been in the last year (we just took over 1.5 years ago) - really, really good news has been kind of difficult to come by.

We've had a couple pieces of excellent news in the last week.

First piece of good news:

A couple months ago, I briefly mentioned a sales presentation that myself, Buttin and Tubby-Tub (Barbie's husband) were doing. The presentation was to get on a vendor list of a large management company here in Austin. Well - we made the list! We're one of a few vendors on the list, but this opens up a big new market of potential customers. Needless to say, I did my silly, spazzy happy-dance in my office the day I found out.

The second piece of good news has less of an immediate impact, but is still good:

We are members of a local trade/professional association. As members, we try to stay active and attend meetings. As with most non-profits and associations it sometimes takes a very, very long time to make big decisions (there are always studies involved, lots of committee meetings, etc.). Well the association is looking to purchase a piece of land as an investment and to maybe one day build new headquarters.

The decision making process involved many factors, including; price, return on investment, potential for growth and many others. Well, the piece of land they're trying to purchase is less than a block away from where we just recently moved! This area of Austin is really set to explode in the next 2 - 5 years. We already thought this was the case, but it's good to hear from "official sources". It might be a little bit more of a hassle to get to and from work (because of the traffic), but by all accounts, we're in a VERY good area of town.

The End.

Wasn't that a good story? I hope this has made my mom happy.

Picture Of The Day

Yes! We had snow yesterday.

And yes, those are still Christmas lights hanging from our trees.

Raining Ice Pellets (and other less interesting news)

**Random updates, in no particular order and with no particular connection**
  • No jog waddling this morning - it was raining ice pellets. I'll have to do weights or something this afternoon. I took the raining ice pellets to mean that I should probably sleep in and cuddle with the cats.
  • I kind of missed Hypnobabies class last night. I did my relaxation CD (it's called "Special Place"), but I think Buttin kind of enjoyed the break. For Hypnobabies, we're supposed to come up with a special place that we can go to in our mind. The most relaxing, comfortable place in the world to me is my couch - isn't that boring? It makes for a rather unimaginative hypnobabies session - since I'm laying on my couch while thinking about my couch, but I guess that means I don't have to work very hard at visualizing my special place and can concentrate instead on my hypno-anesthesia (no laughing).
  • My dear mother in law is coming into town this weekend and I hope she's OK sharing a bedroom with a room full of unorganized Lumpy stuff. I was thinking this morning that I really need to take an inventory of everything and then go shopping with my friend Jen for all the things that I still need.
  • Today we're planning to run our Quick Books upgrade. This is a task for Buttin. I'm quite certain, I would turn to Psycho-Stephanie if I had to do it.
