This 2011 Academy Award Winner for Best Documentary is both extremely educational (I now understand a credit default swap, but have no idea why they're legal or at the very least not regulated) and infuriating. Thankfully, no one is spared -- politicians (both sides), CEOs, lobbyist and even academics are exposed for their greed. How there isn't a prison full of these crooks - I'll never know.

Read (or download Michael Lewis's book The Big Short. Its a great read because he is a great storyteller and does a great job of explaining complex financial instruments. Then, check out Liars Poker, if you never read it before because that was his first and most excellent book.
